You're Kidding, Right?
The decision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to adopt an open international standard for office file formats has engendered some emotional rhetoric. And some reasoned responses.
In response to a ZDNet blog talking about IBM's likely response to the Massachusetts adoption of the Open Document Format (ODF) standard, someone that goes by the handle "bigjim01" had this to say:
Gary Edwards provided a very thoughtful and thorough response. The only reason why Massachusetts is implementing this is because they are sore losers and they could not get Microsoft broken up. I believe the pretty much are acting against their best interests in this matter. I think that the person that is pushing this should be fired.
You can read it here. It is a little long; but very well reasoned.
